Construction Security Guards Service Melbourne & Victoria
Licensed construction security guards who hold a white card, know how a building site runs and turn up inducted to yours. Overnight, weekend, gatehouse and shutdown shifts — the same named guards every night, with a report in your inbox before prestart.
Guard roles
Construction security guards for every shift
Book one construction security guard for one night, or a named team for the whole build. Each guard is briefed for the role they're filling, because a gatehouse guard and an overnight guard do very different jobs.

Gatehouse Guard
Runs the gate during working hours. Checks white cards and inductions against your approved list, signs trades and visitors in and out, and logs every delivery, truck and piece of plant that comes through.

Overnight Static Guard
On site from knock-off to prestart. Locks up, clears the site, then patrols the fence line, compound and every level or lot at random times through the night. The most common construction guard booking.

Weekend & Shutdown Guard
Friday knock-off to Monday prestart, RDOs, public holidays and the Christmas close-down. Rostered with guards who already know your site, so cover doesn't drop when the site is emptiest.

Roving Site Guard
A second guard on foot for large sites, estates and multi-building projects, working alongside a static post. Covers the areas a gatehouse can't see and checks every GPS checkpoint on a random route.

Emergency Call-Out Guard
A guard on site the same day after a break-in, a cut fence, a failed alarm or a damaged gate. Stays until the site is secure again — one night or until your repairs are done.

Dedicated Project Guard
The same guard, or small team of guards, rostered to your project from first shift to handover. They learn your site, your trades and your site manager — and you stop re-briefing strangers.
What they actually do
A night on site with an EMSA construction security guard
"Security guard" can mean someone sitting in a car at the gate all night. This is what a shift with us looks like instead — every step logged, so you can see it happened.

Handover from the site manager
What's changed today: new deliveries, open areas, hot works, and any trades expected after hours.

First sweep
Every level or lot cleared of people. Scaffold access blocked, lighting and fence line checked for gaps.

If something happens
Record it, call police or 000 if needed, secure the area and call your nominated site contact — straight away, not in the morning.

Report sent
Occurrence report in the site manager's inbox before prestart, with anything important at the top.

Lock-up
Last trades signed out, gates chained, plant keys secured, site sheds and containers checked and locked.

Random patrols
Perimeter, compound and internal checks at irregular times, each one logged at a GPS checkpoint. Hot works areas re-checked for heat or smoke.

Opening
Gate opened for early trades on your approved list only. White cards checked at the gate.
Summary first. One line telling you whether anything needs action today.
Timed log. Every patrol, checkpoint scan and gate opening, with the time it happened.
Incidents flagged. Damage, intruders and hazards highlighted, with photos where possible.
Your format if you need it. We'll match your principal contractor's template.

Qualifications
What every construction security guard we send holds
A security licence lets someone guard a site. It doesn't mean they know how a construction site works. Every guard on our construction roster has both — and follows your site rules under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 like any other worker on site.
-
Victorian security licence. An individual operator licence for unarmed guarding, issued by Victoria Police under the Private Security Act 2004.
-
Construction induction card. A current white card, checked before the guard is rostered — so no one gets turned away at your gate.
-
National police check. Completed for every guard and refreshed on the cycle your project requires.
-
Your site induction. Done before shift one, along with your site rules, emergency plan and written post orders.
-
First aid. A current first aid certificate, plus training in fire response and evacuation.
-
Site-standard PPE. Hi-vis, steel caps and hard hat to your requirements, plus a torch, radio and phone.
-
De-escalation training. For trespassers, disputes and angry members of the public — calm first, police when needed.
-
Directly employed. Paid correctly under the Security Services Industry Award. No sham subcontracting.
Every EMSA guard will
Arrive early for handover — not at knock-off, 15 minutes before it.
Wear full uniform and PPE, with their security licence on them at all times.
Follow your site rules, exclusion zones and sign-in system like any other worker.
Stay awake and moving, with checkpoint scans that prove it.
Log everything that happens on shift, with times and photos.
Call your site contact straight away for anything serious — not in the morning.
Hand over in person to the next guard or your site manager.
Every EMSA guard will never
Sleep or leave the site during a shift.
Let anyone in who isn't on your approved list.
Use your plant, tools or site vehicles.
Chase or fight intruders — they observe, record and call police.
Leave their post without a relief guard in place.
Post photos or details of your site on social media.
Smoke or vape outside your designated area.
Guard standards
How our construction security guards behave on your site
These standards are written into every guard's post orders. If a guard breaks one, tell us — you'll get a replacement guard and a written explanation.
Why builders switch
The problems builders bring us — and what we do about them
Most builders who call us already have a security company. These are the reasons they give for leaving, and how we stop them happening on your site.

Guards asleep or off site
Guards scan GPS checkpoints at random times all night, and a supervisor makes unannounced visits. You can see the scan times in every report.

No-shows at knock-off
Our control room confirms every guard has signed on. If they haven't within 15 minutes, a relief guard is sent and you're told.

Reports nobody reads
One short report before prestart, with anything needing action at the top — not a page of "all quiet" entries.

A different stranger every night
Named guards are rostered to your site. Backup guards have done your induction too, so a sick day doesn't mean a guard who's never seen your site.

Guards turned away at the gate
White cards and licences are checked before we roster anyone, and copies are sent to you before the first shift.

Surprise charges on the invoice
Night, weekend and public holiday rates are quoted upfront and in writing, never added later.

Booking a guard
How to book a construction security guard
An urgent booking can go from phone call to guard at your gate the same day. An ongoing roster follows the same steps, with a little more time to match the right guards to your site.
Tell us the shifts
Site address, the days and hours you need a guard, how many guards, and anything that's gone missing recently.
Guard brief & price
A supervisor visits to write the guard's post orders — duties, patrol route, gate rules, contacts — and confirms a firm price.
Guards assigned
Named guards matched to your site. Licence, police check and white card records sent to you.
Induction & first shift
Guards complete your site induction, then start. A supervisor checks in on the first night.
Same guards, every shift
Reports every morning, and a review at 30 days. Add or drop shifts as the build changes.

Local, suburb by suburb
Security in Melbourne’s CBD is very different from security on a growth-area construction site. Inner-city sites may need to manage high pedestrian traffic, tenants, deliveries and after-hours access, while outer-suburban and regional sites can involve large, open areas, multiple access points, isolated locations and longer response times. The right security solution starts with understanding the environment, the risks and how the site actually operates.
Patrol routes, response times and guard rosters are designed around your site, its surrounding area and the way your business operates—so your security coverage is practical, responsive and fit for purpose.
Outside Melbourne? We also deploy across Victoria — ask about your site.
